The winning work of the Noir Fiction International Literary Contest ""Ciudad de Getafe 2017"". Summoned by the City of Getafe. This is one of the literary contests of this genre with more trajectory in Spain. It intends to incite the authors to relate their stories and to reveal the ingenuity and fantasy that they carry inside. It is currently supported by Ambito Cultural de El Corte Ingles and the publishing house EDAF. For Lorenzo Silva, foreman of the jury, The Bald Japanese deserves the prize for constituting ""an ambitious and brilliant novel that, based on a great capacity for verbal inventiveness and a prose of intense vibration, narrates a disturbing story impregnated with an acid and disturbing memory of the contemporary society”.
